Self Introduction :
Hailing from the “God’s own country”, I am the fourth generation learner in my family, breathing the Chennai air for more than three decades. I am an ambitious, passionate and an innovative young woman, who became a teacher 7 years ago by choice and not by chance. It has been a wonderful journey so far and I have profited more by learning than teaching. I have been a versatile teacher by leading a part of various clubs and a member of the events, substitution, Assembly, sports, student’s prefect committee and also performed various supervision and administrative duties.
I emphasize on the quality more than the quantity, which is one of my principles of teaching. Though I work well in a team, I am confident of accomplishing any task independently. I am also rooted to my traditions, but have a broader perspective about life and its accompanying challenges, which makes me think local and act global.
My uncompromising attitude and hard core professionalism is what I think makes me a perfectionist. I have ‘no or zero’ tolerance towards corruption, indiscipline and social irresponsibility.
Passion/Hobby :
Apart from teaching, I have a passion towards travelling and exploring places, meeting people and savour different cuisines, which has now made me extended my travel to international destinations after visiting most of the tourist destinations in India. My future travel goals include visiting countries as a part of Global Teacher Exchange programs and implement it in my country and improvise the education system here.
My other interests include dancing, reading a book/journal/magazine, playing sports, learning a language, mentoring and counselling. As a Microbiologist, there is certainly some obsession on cleanliness at home, while cooking, while travelling, at workplace etc., which has now become mandatory for all of us, as instructed by the WHO, ICMR and the Government.
Awards :
I have received awards for the following :
– being proficient in English language at college level
– solo and group dances at school and college levels
– individual athletic championship at school and college levels. Represented district and state in both track and field events and won the 3rd prize in long jump and runner up in throw ball and Kho – Kho.
Received special appreciations and mention on my participation on an adventurous trip as a part of the silver standards of the “Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme” and a two day camp at the “Rotary Youth Leadership Awards” program.
To my credit, I have attended various workshops and seminar on “Teaching, Learning and Leadership Skills” on being an educator and also have four publications on my research on antibiotics and the emergence of resistance in bacteria.
